Open Day Lunch
8 May 2018What a wonderful start to the grass court season with the very well attended Open Day Lunch. It was unfortunate the ground conditions were such that play could not occur on the grass courts and the American Tournament was played on all 6 carpet courts. How we ever managed with only 4! The competition was over subscribed and plans were put in place by the Men’s Vice Captain Simon Whitehead to have teams of 3. That format proved to be entertaining and challenging.
The winning team (Two Phils in a Rowe) comprised Phil Bickerstaffe, Philip Walmsley and Helen Rowe.
Thanks to all the Ladies and Men who contributed to the food and to our Lady Captain Janet Wroe for organising the event.
