Air Dome Update1 August 2019
The great news is that we have now have received planning permission to go ahead with installing an air dome to cover two of the carpet courts each year between the beginning of October and the end of March. Getting consent has been a complicated, time consuming and expensive procedure but we got there in the end.
Because of the timing it is not going to be possible to have the dome in place for this winter but there is no reason why it should not be erected in September 2020 subject only to raising the necessary finance.
We will be setting out a timetable for the project plus details of costs and how it will be financed within the next 3 months once we have obtained up to date costings, but we know that we will have to work hard to raise the monies needed so if you have any fund raising ideas then please let us know.
To start with we will be adding to the engraved bricks which are part of the pathway. Many have agreed to buy a brick and we now need to collect the forms and money to enable us to place the order at the end of August.
If you have not yet passed on the forms to Graham Lanigan then please do so as soon as possible and if you have not yet bought a brick (£40 or £70 for a permanent reminder of the great times you have enjoyed at the Club) then please contact Graham on 07855 789807 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
We want to provide our members with the best possible facilities so that they can enjoy their tennis and whilst we will try to raise as much as possible from sources outside the Club, we will always have to rely on our members to help us achieve our aims.
Please assist us to continue to improve our facilities and maintain our position as the best and friendliest Club in the region.
